SIMKBIJ was created in co-operation with "IJmond IJzersterk" (a regional government stimulus program) and local banking companies. Innovative (starting) companies can call upon this fund to borrow capital with a maximum of € 50,000, especially for those companies that have difficulties in finding capital from the "normal" capital market. These difficulties are due to a relatively high risk factor, which stems from the technological character of their activities.
SIMKBKvNH – Innovation Fund for Small and Medium Sized Entities
The € 700,000,- fund was created in mid 2001 in co-operation with “Kop en Munt”, (a regional government stimulus program), the Province of North-Holland and local banking companies (e.g. Rabobank). Innovative starting companies can call upon this fund to lend capital with a maximum of € 50,000,-. The objective of this fund is similar to that of the SIMKBIJ fund. Exit per 2007.
EiR Pty Ltd (Entrepreneurs in Residence)
Zernike Australia was shareholder of the ICT BITS-incubator of WA Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiR) from 2000 until the program ended October 2008. EiR provided entrepreneurs with the resources required to bring leading edge technology from conception to commercialisation. Everything necessary to ensure business and investment success, from funds provision to complete management and infrastructure support. EiR brought together investors with capital to invest in managed funds, and investees with leading edge business ideas for the ICT industry. This provided fantastic opportunities to investors to make sound investments in these highly managed start up companies that are provided with an extremely high degree of professional support. Garantiefonds Rabobank –Rabobank Fund
The Rabobank Fund was initiated in November 2001 and it is a cooperative undertaking between the Zernike Group BV and the Rabobank, The Netherlands Zernike Group’s task from 2001-2003 was to assist local bank branches of the Rabobank in the assessment process of business plans that the banks receive from their clients and conduct an initial evaluation on whether or not a business idea is feasible and promising. Zernike Group BV reviewed the submitted business plans and with its in-house research team conducted extensive market research that included project scanning, technical project description, commercial project description, financial project description and HRM project description. Exit per 2003.
